Have Some Fun At The 25th Annual Owen Sound Salmon Spectacular

Lots of fishing, lots of anglers, lots of partying and lots of fun – that’s what you can expect at the 2012 Owen Sound Salmon Spectacular. Starting this Friday, August 24th, 2012, and running until Sunday, September 2nd, 2012, Owen Sound will play host to a bevy of fun-seekers, most of whom will be hoping to catch the big one and win the top prize of a new G3 boat.
The Salmon Spectacular is like no other fishing derby. The entire town gets in on the action. Everywhere you go there are boats, fishing rods, and talk of the how the fishing action is. This an event that can be fished from a boat or the pier and everyone stands a chance of being in on the action.
While I prefer to spend most of my time fishing, there’s always some other form of entertainment going on under the big tent that serves as derby headquarters. Head there in the morning for breakfast and a chance to chat with other anglers. Stop in throughout the day to look of the current standings and see where the fish are being caught. By the afternoon there’s bound to be something fun taking place, and at night the place is packed and partying.
Tickets for the event need to be purchased at least a day before you plan to fish and they can be purchased at the event, or at several different tackle shops.
Come on out and enjoy the good times. I’ll be there as much as my schedule allows, and hopefully manage to catch something this year! Whether or not I land a fish, I always have a great time and I can’t wait to participate yet again.

The Owen Sound Salmon Spectacular is run by the Sydenham Sportsmen Association. All information regarding the derby can be found on the organization’s website, http://www.sydenhamsportsmen.com/, then click on the link at the top for the derby. The entertainment information can be found at http://www.sydenhamsportsmen.com/the-derby/2014-derby-entertainment/. It is also advertised in most Owen Sound news sources. This wonderful event takes an incredible amount of time and volunteers to pull off, so while SEO may not be the highest priority, pulling off an amazing event is always guaranteed. I hope this helps.
