Only Three More Sleeps Until Bass Opener!

If you’re a bass angler in Southern Ontario, chances are that you’re having trouble. Trouble sleeping, trouble focusing at work, trouble talking to non-fishing people… And why is that? Because bass opener is a mere three sleeps away! The fourth Saturday in June is almost here. How long has it been since you were last able to target those acrobatic smallies and monstrous largies at your home lake? Too long! Now, I’ve had the problem of trying to keep bass off my lures this spring – it’s been impossible to keep them away. But soon I’ll be able to let myself take a pic, to enjoy the catch, and to try it all over again on the next cast. Excited? You bet I am! I can’t wait for Saturday.

A beauty smallmouth bass from the Grand River last summer.

I remember this largie saving the day last summer. After hours of catching nothing, he started a feeding frenzy.

One of the great smallies I got on vacation last year.
