Ontario Family Fishing Week

Ontario Family Fishing Week is a time when the government of Ontario allows Canadian residents to fish in Ontario without a fishing license. This year’s free fishing week is July 2-10, 2011.

This is a great opportunity to introduce (or re-introduce) friends and family to the amazing sport of fishing. If you don’t have much time to fish and didn’t buy a license this year, this is a great time to get out, take a kid with you, and spend some time on the water. There are all sorts of festivals, derbies and workshops organized for the week, in the hopes of getting more people outside and experiencing nature.
