Snowmobile Fire
“Let’s get snowmobiles,” we said. “It will be fun,” we said. And it has been, after the first three weeks when Darrell’s sled was in the shop and we were waiting on parts to get it repaired. Once it was up and running we managed to get out on the local snowmobile trails a few times and take the sleds winter camping and it was such a blast.
Yesterday we headed out for what was likely to be our last day on the local trails. The forecast was beautiful but with a bunch of warm weather and rain headed our way, the trails wouldn’t last. We had big plans for the day and I was excited to put a bunch of kilometers on my sled.
Then, the unexpected happened. Darrell’s leg started to feel very warm and he pulled over to check it out. Flames, smoke, a scary moment. Watch the video to see more.
Needless to say, our snowmobile season has come to an end since Darrell’s sled now needs more repairs. So much for that trip up north I was hoping for! I’m just glad everything was okay in the end and nothing happened to Darrell. Looks like we’re going to start shifting gears towards getting ready for spring. Won’t be long before we get the boat out!
