A Very Boring Morning
I am unfortunate enough to be sitting through a very boring training session for work today. It amazes me how companies think this is an effective way to train people. I would prefer to be in the office, not falling further behind on my work, and just be given the new portal to play with. I’m pretty intuitive with online portals, let me figure it out.
Oh well. I am losing a day of productivity, but it gives me time to think of fishing. I enjoy thinking of fishing and today I have realized one of the reasons I really enjoy fishing is that I am rarely bored (as I am right now). If the fish aren’t biting I can always move around. I could take a break and read a book. I can enjoy the scenery. Or I can just keep switching lures and cursing at the fish for not biting. If the fish cooperate and bite, I lose track of time and get super excited. As I said, it’s rarely boring.
In fact, part of the fun for me is always needing new gear. With ice fishing season approaching, Darrell and I decided we needed more ice gear. So for Christmas this year, the theme is ice gear, and yesterday saw the purchase of -100* boots, which I haven’t been able to stop thinking about because I’m thrilled at the prospect of having warm feet on the ice this winter. I can’t wait to open them up on Christmas morning 🙂
Getting into a fishing is such a great way to make sure you avoid boredom. After all, it’s helping me survive this morning!
