Website Wednesday: Cutthroat Fishing

A really neat site that I like to visit both before and after my fishing trips is Cutthroat Fishing.

The goal behind Cutthroat Fishing is to “make it easier for both beginners and experienced anglers to obtain information about the best bait, fly or lure for the fish they are going after in their particular lake or stream.”

I visit the site periodically to see if anyone has filed a catch report for an area I might be fishing. I always return a few days after my own fishing trips to file a report detailing where I fished, what I was catching, and what lure I used. I try to add a picture if I was able to get one.

Filing a fishing report is a simple matter of selecting the fish, picking your lure, and updating the statistics. If the lure you used isn’t in the database you just submit a link to the lure and a short time later it will be added to the site.

The site also provides great articles and tips and techniques that are guaranteed to help you improve your fishing.

The more anglers that contribute to site, the more helpful it will be. I encourage everyone to take some time and add at least one catch report to the site and make this a valuable resource for all anglers.
