Website Wednesday: Earth Sports

Imagine a social networking site for anglers, featuring the latest news on fishing, tournaments, college fishing and gear. Imagine being able to find a guide, share fishing reports, and interact with other anglers on a group level or angler-to-angler. That’s what you will find at Earthsports.com.

When you register for the Earth Sports website, or connect using another social network,  you are given the chance to build your profile – providing as much or as little information as you like. You can indicate the zone and style of fishing you prefer and interact with other anglers enjoying the same style as you.

Users can post status updates and interact with friends publicly, as well as in the in the forum, or privately, through the site’s messaging system.

Much like on Facebook, users can create and join groups to share a common interest – whether it’s a type of fishing, a tournament series they follow, or a college fishing team they belong to.

Users can also create blogs, upload videos and pictures and access those belonging to other anglers.

By joining Earth Sports you will have access to all their latest articles and be able to comment on them. Some recent articles include The Best Bait of All Time and Battling Billfish With Respect.  A nice bonus is that you can sometimes win something, like a gift card, just for commenting on certain articles.

Earth Sports is a valuable resource for anglers and I hope you take the time to check it out.

Earth Sports can be found online at www.earthsports.com
and on Twitter at www.twitter.com/earthsports.
